Ophthalmologist Jobs in the USA at Summit Health: Summit Health is looking for a Medical Retina Specialist who wants to grow a thriving practice in a financially secure, physician-driven, multispecialty setting. Have fun practicing in “Oregon’s Jackson Hole!”
The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained and Board certified/eligible, skilled in intravitreal injection and retinal laser, and knowledgeable about diagnosing and treating a wide range of vitreous and retinal pathology. You will work in a clinic with an oculoplastic surgeon who has completed a fellowship, a cataract/anterior segment surgeon, and two optometrists. Our current retina specialist will be leaving the state. If your practice is non-surgical and focused on Medical Retina, the incoming ophthalmologist will see 25-35+ patients per day, primarily within the medical retina, and there will be no primary surgical call.
Summit Health has over 140 providers and 30 specialties that serve over 45,000 attributed lives in Central Oregon. Summit Health is the largest multispecialty group in Central Oregon and is a for-profit, physician-led practice with multiple locations. Ophthalmology services are available in Bend and Redmond on a weekly basis.

There are opportunities to maintain surgical skills in general ophthalmology. Surgical procedures are carried out across the street in an efficient surgery center. The main regional hospital is also a short walk from the main eye clinic. If you want to keep a full-service practice, including cataract surgery, surgical Call responsibilities are shared by a very collegial group of 8-10 other ophthalmologists in the community.
