Excellent management and communication skills will be key to success in the demanding and competitive world of research.
Through the annual meetings of CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars and additional learning experiences from all of CIFAR’s research programs, CIFAR creates a variety of training opportunities on topics related to leadership development.
Engagement in global communities
Tomorrow’s research leaders must effectively engage key stakeholders in their communities, government, industry, or the general public to inform and disseminate their work.
We provide opportunities for early-career researchers to increase the impact of their research by interacting with leaders both inside and outside of academia.
Scholarship Benefits:
A two-year term in the CIFAR research program, a global, interdisciplinary network of leading researchers
$100,000 CAD in unrestricted research support
Mentoring Senior Researcher within CIFAR Research Programme

Eligible Nationalities:
International students who are looking for research funding in Canada can apply for this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants can be based anywhere in the world, must hold a PhD (or equivalent), and be within the first five years of starting a full-time research position at higher education or research institution. Scholars’ research interests should complement the themes and goals of the recruiting CIFAR research program.
Note: Post Doctoral Fellows are not eligible to apply.
