Progress Tutor Jobs in the UK 2023: Askham Bryan Institution is a land-based specialist college with campuses in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield, and Newcastle.
Among the subjects available to our Further Education students are Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Outdoor Adventure Sports, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, Uniformed Public Services, and Veterinary Nursing.
In York, we also have a thriving university centre that provides a wide range of courses from Foundation degrees to Master’s degrees.
We are looking to hire a brand new team of Progress Tutors to work within the curriculum and with a cohort of approximately 140-160 to deliver our tutorial framework group sessions (Progression and Development sessions) on topics such as Employability, Prevent, and British Values, as well as many others. The tutors will also be in charge of the students’ pastoral care as well as their development and attendance in one-on-one tutorial sessions.
Working closely with the curriculum, Student Services Team, Quality Team, and Work Placement Teams, you will be responsible for ensuring that each student has the life skills and knowledge they need to be employable, work-ready, and equipped with the skills to keep themselves safe when they leave our College.
To be successful in this position, you must be committed and passionate about students attaining their maximum potential and collaborating to eliminate any obstacles that may arise along the road. You will be a team player who can also work alone when needed. Individuals who can provide new insights and help mould the role of the Progress Tutor into a successful and respected part of the Student Services Team, as well as being fully integrated into the curriculum teams, are encouraged to apply.
