Scholarship for International Students at ACU
Australian Catholic University International Student Scholarships are awarded to international students who are beginning their undergraduate or postgraduate studies and have demonstrated exceptional academic merit in previous studies. Eligibility Criteria:
ACU Merit Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
- This scholarship is available to applicants who meet all of the following requirements by the scholarship application deadline:
- International students’ citizenship
- Any ACU coursework degree (excluding pathway/diploma/graduate certificate courses)
- Year of study: first year (Commencing a new ACU course in Semester 1, 2023)
- A full-time study load is required.
- Anywhere on campus
- You must have accepted an offer to begin an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at ACU in Semester 1, 2023.
- You must have at least 80% (equivalent to a GPA of 5.8 on the ACU 7-point scale) in a previous study completed within the last two years (undergraduate applicants) or four years (graduate applicants) (postgraduate applicants)
- You must apply for an ACU program at the same or higher level of study than your current qualifications.
- You must not be the recipient of another ACU scholarship or award.
- It would help if you were not a Study Abroad or Exchange student at ACU.
Application Methodology:
Applicants must include the following information in their application:
Evidence of academic merit, demonstrating at least an 80% average (GPA 5.8 on the ACU 7-point scale) across your most recent program of study. (Academic records must contain original language documents, translations (if applicable), and an official explanation of the grading system.)
Criteria for selection
- Academic merit is used to evaluate applications.
- The Selection Committee may take into account the diversity of applicants’ home countries as well as the courses in which they are enrolled (including across a spread of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs and campuses).
The selection procedure
- A Selection Committee comprised of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global and Educational Pathways), the Executive Dean of each Faculty (or nominee), the Associate Director, International Admissions and Student Relations, and the Associate Director, International Marketing and Recruitment will choose the recipients.
- In addition to the eligibility and selection criteria, the Selection Committee may take into account the diversity of applicants’ origin countries and the courses in which they are enrolled when reviewing applications (including across a spread of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs and campuses).
Continuous requirements
To remain eligible for this scholarship, recipients must do the following:
- A minimum overall GPA of 4.75 (on a seven-point scale) for the duration of their course.
- A minimum Pass grade for all units taken during the previous study period.
- After initial enrollment, the Scholarship is not transferable to other courses or campuses.
- Tuition fees must be paid by students by the due dates.
- For students on an approved Leave of Absence for up to 12 months, the Scholarship remains valid.
- Successful applicants must also agree to serve as ACU student ambassadors and participate in promotional activities.
