CPEC Creates 155000 New Jobs for Pakistan 2023: According to China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has facilitated bilateral cooperation between China and Pakistan over the past decade.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and at a recent press conference, an official from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) highlighted the positive outcomes achieved through CPEC. These include the successful development of Gwadar Port and partnerships in the energy, infrastructure, and industry sectors.
The official also mentioned that several highway construction projects are proceeding according to schedule and that the power plants that are now operational provide approximately one-third of Pakistan’s electricity needs, alleviating the country’s power shortage. According to the NDRC, CPEC will have created a total of 236,000 jobs by the end of 2022, with 155,000 of those jobs going to Pakistani workers.
