Labcorp Drug Development Medical Laboratory Scientist Duties

As a laboratory scientist at Labcorp, your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing the acceptability of test specimens based on predetermined criteria
• Implementing difficult and routine technical operations and duties in accordance with the department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitoring, operating, and diagnosing malfunctions in instrumentation to ensure its proper operation
• Showing the capacity to make technical testing and problem-solving decisions.
• Developing, assessing, and testing novel reagents or controls
• Providing precise and timely test findings to provide quality patient care
• Implementing and documenting quality control and preventative maintenance procedures
• determining and replacing test bench supply needs as required
• Helping with specimen processing when required
• Ensuring a safe workplace and donning the proper personal protective equipment

Requirements for Medical Laboratory Jobs in Malaysia 2023 Visa Sponsorship

To qualify for this position, you must:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or other life science; completion of a 12-month Medical Technology training program. Or a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science from an approved college or university plus one year of training and/or experience in the specialty in which the testing will be conducted. Its training must be comparable to that gained in a Medical Technology school.
• Satisfy local regulatory requirements (CLIA and State)
• Have prior experience as a Generalist, preferably in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis.
• ASCP or AMT accreditation is desired.
• Has the capacity to work independently and within a team
• Get familiar with computers
• Be knowledgeable about laboratory information systems
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and solid communication and organizing abilities.
• Ability to pass a conventional color vision test
• Be willing to work overtime or additional shifts as required by the business.
• Be fluent in the English language.
